Car Dealer In Winnipeg
Posted on February 16th, 2009 1 commentWinnipeg Car Dealers
I don’t know what kind it is, but I saw it on TV running full speed along the shore (I don’t live near the shore) throwing up spray or maybe it was that one climbing up the steep mountain trail thru the mud, rocks and snow. Very exciting. (I don’t live near the mountains either.) WOW! Just what I need.
But there are a few obstacles.
It costs about $28,000. (That’s close to the average annual wage.) I have perfect credit and they’ll give it to me for no money down. All I have to do is make the monthly payments for the next 5 years of only $541. Maybe it won’t be that much because I’ll be trading in my car and I have it almost paid for it.
I can see me now headed for the beach or climbing that mountain in that shiny new car.
I tell my wife.
She says, ‘So’.
I say, ‘Waddayamean ’so’?’
She elaborates that our car is almost paid for and hasn’t a scratch on it. It looks like new when it is washed and waxed and runs great. She whacks me with if I want a different car we can have this one repainted and put on new slip covers. The transmission and AC have both been replaced and it has less than 100,000 miles on it. She remembers the engine is rated for 200,000 miles and the tires are good for another 50,000 miles. How does she recall those statistics? I can’t win for losing with this woman.
There is a tone in her voice that I know means finality when she iterates, ‘You might want a new car, but we don’t need one’. My reply is the car might break down and may cost thousands to fix’. Her lightning reply, ‘Well, it won’t cost $28,000 and our insurance bill won’t go up either. If you want payments you can make an extra mortgage payment each month. Better yet let’s knock down that credit card debt.’
I hear the air hissing out of my balloon. No beach. No mountains. Forget all that practical stuff like saving for retirement or having some extra cash put away for emergencies. Damn.
BUT - my neighbor has a new car.

New Car Dealer Costs
Posted on February 16th, 2009 1 commentCar Dealer Specials
Buying a new car is a serious decision for any consumer (unless you are a millionaire) that requires a lot of things to be taken into consideration if you want to get the best out of your buy.

The rule of thumb here is to go cool-headed and don’t rush with your purchase, even if you think you know exactly what you are going to buy. Before you start considering options there are three major steps you should go through in order to make you car buying a lot easier and more effective:
- Determine the amount of money you are going to spend for an auto.
- Choose the auto(s) you are able to buy.
- Keep in mind the amount you’ve decided to spend, specify the sum you’re ready to pay for an auto.Get ready to answer some questions about the sources you are going to use for advance payment while buying an automobile. If you have to pay a down payment then take 20% from the amount (in dollars) you’re going to spend for an auto - the rest should be available for advance payment.
Requirements for payments depend on your current credit history. If you receive a direct auto loan through the Internet, this lender won’t require a down payment from you, on the other hand fixed indirect auto lending usually requires advance payments.
Use the Internet to learn what will be visible to auto lenders viewing your credit history when making a decision whether to give you a loan or not.
If necessary, you can also get a review of your credit and if you think some changes are required, just postpone your purchase for a period of 30 to 60 days to clear your credit from inaccurate information.
Some notes for car buyers
- Start choosing the car according to its main characteristics (value, price range, need)
- Compare a car you want to buy with other brands and models from the same category.
- The most popular cars often have the worst customer support.
- The new, more expensive cars are not always better.
- If necessary, evaluate the value of the car, its beauty and status which it brings to you.
- When buying a second-hand car compare the retail and wholesale price of the car you’ve chosen.
- When buying a new one check its true market value. Before going to an auto dealer check for direct auto loans on the Internet.
If you are approved by the direct lender via Internet, you become a desired and stable consumer for a car dealer.Being a stable (cash) consumer allows you to not use your Social Security Number in negotiations with auto-dealer when buying the auto.
Being a stable (cash) consumer you have a right to conclude a "One-Pay Contract" in case you’re approved by one of numerous direct lenders.
If you’re not approved by direct lenders, "indirect" dealers also offer good alternatives if you have the knowledge necessary for approaching the auto-dealer and understand your financial capabilities in full extent.

How To Get A New Car Extended Warranty At A Rock-Bottom Price

Stimulus Bill Provides Little Help to Today’s Car Buyers
The stimulus bill does contain a provision to make buying a car a little cheaper: It allows new-car buyers to deduct the state and local sales tax paid on a new car from their federal taxes, even if they don’t itemize.

How Do I Get The Best Deal On A New Car?
Posted on February 11th, 2009 No commentsOur main page answers, "How do I get the best deal on a new car?"
The global automotive industry is in a tailspin, with a double digit sales drop being felt in the United States, select European markets and elsewhere.
Some analysts are predicting that depressed sales will continue through 2009 with only a modest recovery happening by late 2010.
Of course, the flip side of the news is that consumers are still buying new cars. This means that as automakers work frantically to reduce production and cut back on capacity, some excellent deals await the savvy shopper.
Are you planning to buy a new car this year? If so, let’s take a look at some things to consider before you buy:
Research Thoroughly - Thanks to the internet, everything and anything you want to learn about new models is available online. You can compare similar models, read reviews, learn fuel mileage estimates, check out consumer ratings, simulate outfitting your car, arrange a test drive, obtain price quotes and more. Truly, before you set foot in the dealership you can have all of the information you need to ensure that you get the right car at the right price.
Not the Sticker Price - As recently as 2007, most consumers paid at or just below the sticker price for their new cars. No more. Today, a sticker price is simply a guide, but you can pay closer to what the dealer paid for the car when you uncover that information while researching your particular car. These days, most new cars can be had for just a few hundred dollars above dealer invoice, even for lower amounts when manufacturer incentives are included.
Cash or Credit? — If you are paying cash for a new vehicle, then good for you! You have much more leverage than the person who is relying upon credit, a negotiating position that few consumers have. However, even if you are needing to finance your purchase, you can still come away with a great find. Before you get started, obtain a copy of your credit report and credit score to ensure that there are no mistakes on your report and that your score is high enough to get low interest rate financing. In many cases you’d do better obtaining your own financing and taking the cash rebate, but in some cases you can find both through your dealer.
Warranties and Guarantees - How long is your car warranted for and what does that warranty cover? Standard powertrain warranties of 5 years or 60,000 miles may be enough for you but what if you plan on keeping your car for the long haul? Consider an extended warranty purchased through your dealer to cover those parts not covered in the warranty beyond the customary warranty period.
Extra, Extra - Certain popular or high end models won’t necessarily be discounted, but that doesn’t mean you will have to leave the showroom without a deal. Why not ask the dealership to include oil changes with your purchase or some sort of concierge service? Maybe having access to a loaner car while your vehicle is being maintained is all that you need; even the most basic car manufacturers typically offer this service these days.
Finally, when ready to negotiate, be prepared to walk out of a showroom if the deal doesn’t meet your needs. In a given metropolitan area, several dealerships selling the same brand cars can offer different incentives; shop around to find the best deal that is right for you.
